My Rattery Breeding Schedule for 2015

(Note: I'm using frames for my web pages. The top frame that displays my logo can be moved upward out of the way to allow for more viewing area. Just move your mouse to the edge of the frame and when you see it turn into two arrows just click and drag the frame up and out of the way. :>)

Note: Mother Nature always has the final say on my breeding plans. I appreciate everyone's understanding that sometimes things are just out of my hands with supply and demand. Also, breeding pairs are subject to change, sometimes I add pairs or delete pairs to my discretion based on their health or my time constraints.

Please note: I am an older, retired women. I only breed as many litters as I feel I have time for. I normally only breed four-five months out of the year...that hasn't always been the case...but that is my normal standard of operation. Though for some people it might seem like I have a lot of litters planned I don't have human children, school or a job to contend with and have more time to devote to raising my pets properly than most other breeders do. Please take this into consideration when viewing my Breeding Schedule. I can assure you my pets are properly socialized, sweet, healthy and well tempered. You can always check out my Facebook rattery page for the positive feedback I recieve from my adopters.

How to Adopt From Me

10/08/15: I am currently not breeding. If this changes I will let everyone know. Thanks.

You must write me to get prescreened for adoption. Reservations are completed based on when you first wrote me. Gender and quanities may impact how soon I can get your pets to you. Mother Nature can be funny about these types of things. It can take several months to complete your reservation. It's worth the wait but I don't want to have people let down.

When the babies fur comes in (usually eleven to thirteen days) I will take pictures of them and make my selections of which ones I'm keeping. Then those who are on my prescreened list may write me and ask to reserve the remaining babies available.

When the babies are three weeks of age I will take individual pictures of each baby. If you want your own names for them they must be submitted to me by then or I will name them myself. I will no longer "hound" someone to provide a name to me. It's too time consuming.

After you have made your selections of what ratties are going to be yours I will send you an invoice through Paypal to prepay for the babies so that I can hold them for you until you come to pick them up. This shows serious intend to adopt as once they are reserved in your name they are no longer available for anyone else. (Other payment options may be available if needed.)

I reserve the right to add or delete pairings or cancel a reservation if I feel a rat is not healthy enough or friendly enough for adoption. This would probably never happen, but if it did I would refund the security deposit in full.

My breeding goals for 2015

This year I will be breeding five months out of the year. I will have babies available in March, April and May, November and December. I will have options for delivery down state a couple times during this year.

This year I will be focusing on expanding my lines to include more dwarfs. I am preferring dwarfs for many reasons.

They are living longer than standard rats due to their lack of tumors and a resistance to the mycoplasma virus. They have less respirtory issues than standard size rats. They are just as friendly and affectionate as standard size rats. The males tend to get along with each other at all stages of their lives and do not seem to bully or harm each other.

One thing that dwarfs seem to do that standard rats don't do very often is barber each other, so a running wheel and toys and climbing opportunities that keep them busy and not bored help with this. They have very high metabolisms. There also seems to be a resistance to mites and lice. I've never had my dwarfs be afflicted by these pests for some reason.

Because dwarfs have small litters I won't have many available to the general public in 2015.

I will continue my longest and oldest standard size line which is my Dalmatain/Masked line.

I will also keep my black eyed Siamese Burmese lines and my blue/black blazed lines in standard size.

I will have rex rats once in a while, but will mostly concentrate on standard furred rats now as I've noticed mites and lice tend to really like the rex coat types more than standard fur.

In 2015 I will be a semi-open rattery. You will be allowed in the nursery area of the rattery. You'll be allowed to see the mama rats and cuddle the baby rats while in the nursery, if time allows.
