|I just got Ginger from another rattery. What a sweet little girl she is. What a doll! Her headspot is really neat. She is so loving and licky. She is very smart. She is the only one in her cage who can figure out how to get the cage door open. Everytime she goes into heat she lets herself out. I find her roaming around in the rattery. She never finds anything that she is looking for though, because all the boys are in another room, ha. Now I'm waiting for her to figure out how to let herself back in. :>)||As 03/07/05 her health is excellent with nothing to report.
UPDATE: 11/4/06. Ginger is over two years old now. She has developed a growth on her nose between her eyes. I'm not sure yet whether this is an abcess that will eventually open and drain or whether it is a form of tumor. I do know that it is applying pressure to her nose and she is having to breath through her mouth. Other than that she is still very active.
She tries to walk on her wheel, though her balance is off because I think the growth is affecting her vision, so she wobbles. She can still climb up and down in her cage. This growth looks very strange, like a giant wort. If it is a tumor I don't give her much longer to live, because it is probably brain cancer. She is a great rattie and has lived a wonderful live. She has had a lot of fun freeroaming and playing. But they do grow old and pass over. There isn't anything I can do about it...sigh...
UPDATE: 11/11/06 Ginger passed away peacefully today around noon. She will be missed. She was a sweet and gentle rattie. It appears the growth was indeed some sort of tumor. I've never seen anything like it in the four years I've been breeding.
